1959 The last game at Seals Stadium (9/20/59) SF Examiner large size scorecard & official ticket stub (Game # 77). Darryl Spencer (Former NY & SF Giant) autographed the front of the newspaper. The Giants bid farwell to the venerable, old stadium situated between Bryant & Potrero on 16th Steet with an 8-2 loss to the LA Dodgers. The newspaper scorecard is scored in pencil. Some fast facts on the ballpark. The stadium opened on April 7th, 1931. Duke Snider hit the last HR with a 2nd inning blast off the Giants Sam Jones. Johhny Podres picked up the win (besting Sad Sam Jones). Seals Stadium was home to the PCL Seals (1931 - 1957), Mission Reds (1931 - 1937 (later became the Hollywood Stars)and the SF Giants (1958 & 1959). Seals Stadium was demolished in November of 1959. The Newspaper scorecard (Mid Grade) & ticket stub (Better Grade) are suitable for framing.
